London Olympics: An Opportunity that Must be Taken

London city has just jumped head long into one of the biggest sporting events of its history and that is the London Olympics 2012. It is a mega sporting event visited by thousands from across the globe and watched by billions on their TV sets at homes all over the world. London, though it is the politically one of the most important cities of the world, will this time be the highlight of the world sports throughout the next 17 days. People form all parts of the world have already landed on the Heathrow Airport and are constantly landing into this city right now. This trend will continue till the closing ceremony of the Olympics on August 12, 2012 and London will remain energized for al these days.

Olympics have been held regularly since 1892 and London has hosted them before but this will be the first time after the media and social network boom throughout the world and this time these Olympics will be covered by more than any Olympics held anywhere in past. London City will be the focal point of the world which will be hosting this event having more than 35 different games and the entire world would watch them live.

This is surely the biggest chance for the United Kingdom after 2008 to kick start its economy by displaying its superlative degree of arrangements and showcasing the best of shopping and tourism opportunities in the London City so that more and more shopping is done and the tourism industry gets a new boost through these games. The UK wholesalers industry has finally been able to revamp itself with the help of this mega event. Sporting and clothing wholesale industry saw an impressive first quarter this year and the second quarter was also favorable proving that Olympics is certainly playing a morale booster in business and if the UK wholesalers are able to capitalize on this opportunity, it can become the new starting point of the recovery from the recession period that has been going on for the last four years.

UK Sweets Wholesale is a Business For All Seasons

Wholesale sweets is one of those businesses in this UK Wholesale market that just keep paying the wholesaler without taking much from him as there is hardly a time in any season in which sweets are not in extreme demand. In any age-group the sweets are loved and the ones with a high sugar problem only are told not to eat sweets. In fact, even for them, there are special sweets that are completely sugarless. So, even they do not miss the sweets and this also adds a special category for the wholesalers of sweets. Confused? Of course sugar-free sweets are an altogether new category with an entirely separate target market.

The chocolates are something that any girl would die for. Just ask a girl what would she have as her birthday gift and the immediate answer would be “chocolates”. Chocolates are of hundreds of different types and are perhaps the most highly demanded categories among the sweets. Kids just love chocolates and some of them love them so much that they lose all their teeth as their teeth get disease by eating so many chocolates but they do not leave eating them. So, a businessman, selling something for which his target market is so crazy, never has to fear the term recession and likes.

Imported sweets are also in high demand nowadays, as some of the best chocolates are made in Switzerland, France, Belgium and Germany as these countries are famous for making chocolates. That is the reason why chocolates are imported into Great Britain in such a large number by the UK sweets wholesalers. Though the market has seen a recession in the past few years but the demand and supply in the UK wholesale market for chocolates and sweets has never died down and that is the only reason why a UK wholesaler always prefers wholesaling sweets than any other commodity.

Wholesale Toys Play Best For Businessmen

Wholesale toys is one of those businesses in the UK market that never see a fall in their demand while when events like Christmas come, the demand rises to extreme heights. The toys are something that can’t be hit by a slump or by a recession because kids do not care whether the price is affordable or it is out of reach so they just need what they wish for. Only the very needy of the parents would deny something that their kid likes, so there is hardly a chance of a good toy being rejected by the father if the kid likes it.

At the same time, toys are something that cannot be limited to a certain style or stuff. From electronic toys to the stuffed ones and from the Slay Station or X-Box to a remote controlled small Aero-plane, children may like anything. The demands of the children also change with time as parents of a new born kid would like to have a moving wind cham that their son can play with while a grown up kid would ask his parents to buy him a football. A young girl might be happy with a doll or a doll-house but an older one might love to have learning games.

The best part is that there is hardly a time in the year when toys go out of demand as normally it is an all season business. Nowadays toys are also sold online as a large number of toys wholesalers have set up their websites and the business, just like most other businesses, has largely shifted to the e-business. This helps the wholesalers even more and also the buyers that it becomes a one-window operation as the person does not need to pay heed to visit various wholesalers to get the required thing in the suitable price. Instead, he may sit home, browse a few websites, choose from the best option and place the order.

In the Christmas season the demand shoots up as the kids and the Santas flock to the toy shops to buy their favorite toys and this is the best time for a UK toys wholesaler to make full use of the opportunity and turn all the toys towards the retailers’ windows to get the maximum out of his investment.

Bielby Presses for More Cooperation Among Suppliers and Wholesalers

The Federation’s 2012 conference was held on July 12, in which FWD chief executive James Bielby sought suppliers’ help for the investment in wholesaling. He said that wholesalers have one million customers all over the UK now and that they were an essential part of the UK economy that not only creates entrepreneurship in the country to boost its economy but also generates wealth and has a complete network to support the business activities of the country. He encouraged the suppliers to maintain a good business relationship with the wholesalers and utilize their strong network throughout the country and thus enjoy the mutual benefits. He opined that the wholesalers had a proper network and this made them disciplined, engaged and dynamic and could be of great help for the supply business.

He reiterated the resolve that the FWD was going to audit all the data to negate this belief that wholesalers are nothing but “box-humpers”. He said that the organization will look into everything and after proper scrutiny will differentiate all the good and bad so that the regular notion could be undone.

He also said in his speech that he could predict about the situation of wholesale after a decade and believed that there will not be pre-pasted tags on the products and the wholesalers will be able to get good results out of their investment taking a look at the market as and when required. He also forecasted much more use of e-business and also vowed for better communication between the wholesalers and the suppliers.

Handbags Wholesale – Small Investment Large Earning

Handbags are a must for women these days as they have to carry a number of items and at the same time, it is the fashion for them to carry handbags. That is why the wholesalers in UK deem it to be a favorable business to wholesale handbags. It allows a wholesaler to go for the variety as the handbag is a versatile item. They are used for fashion so one may sell fancy style handbags and also being a daily use item they come in different sizes and styles serving various purposes.

A college girl uses handbags to keep her notebooks and handouts while a teacher uses them to keep her important things in it. Doctors in hospitals utilize handbags for keeping their stethoscope kind of stuff that they carry while a model carries the handbags to keep her make-up kit. In short, every woman, no matter what category she belongs to, needs to have a handbag with her. The wholesalers can widen their target market by focusing all the categories of women who buy handbags.

For the purpose of bringing diversity in their product, the UK handbags wholesalers should use handbags of various colors and styles. There are smaller fancy handbags that are mostly used for fashion purpose and that is the most profitable item as only the exciting glittery color of such a bag may charm a girl to buy it. Though it doesn’t serve all purposes of a bag, yet it fulfills the most important desire of a girl, and that is to look attractive. On the other hand, a working woman would be looking for a long handled large handbag that can carry her lip-stick, mobile phone, hair brush and also her money with it.

The handbag, thus, is a daily use item yet it comes in so many different insignia and modes that a wholesaler may not need to look other ways as this commodity alone can earn him big bucks and the best part is that there is never a shortage of innovation in this business. A wholesaler with a small capital at hand can adopt this business to make good profits at the start of his business career.

Clothing Wholesale Should Never suffer from Over-Stocking

Wholesale clothing can either be most profitable business or it can simply cost you an equal loss or even heavier. The reason behind its profitability is quite clear that when fashion is in, clothes can be sold on desire profits and that helps the business to grow. However, the problem may also arise, in case one is unable to sell his stock within the limited span of time as fashions keep changing and a constant change in fashion demands the wholesalers to be vigilant as well as innovative because they have to preempt the changing fashions in order to stay parallel with the market.

The biggest problem arises when a retailer or a wholesaler is left with his clothing items while the fashion is over. This overstock can cost UK clothing wholesalers quite much and certainly hurts the business big time. As an item sold at a low profit or no profit can be acceptable but a stock that one has already paid for and does not sell is a total loss. This has been one of the most important reasons of a failure of a business and in a competitive market like UK’s with the recession period still lingering on, this can prove fatal for a small business and even bigger ones cannot afford it.

There are a few ways in which one may avoid the losses in such cases, the first and foremost advice would certainly be to avoid overstocks by ordering adequate amount of stock. An organization must carefully measure the demand it has and then after carefully analyzing and forecasting the future trends, it should place the order to the factory.

The second way could be to get the stocks insured as it is almost impossible to gauge the future trends and that too in a fluctuating market. If the stocks are insured, then the company does not need to fear as its losses will be borne by the insurance company. But this is possible only for the organizations having a success record and hold a good reputation in the market. For smaller businesses, it is not possible. So the best remedy in such cases is to avoid the overstocking, and, in case they were unable to forecast the exact demand and the stock has already exceeded and remains even when the clothing is out of fashion, then the best possible way is to sell them to some company who deals with excess inventory problems.

United Kingdom Might Ban Goods from Israel

TUC has published Professor James Crawford’s advice that WTO and EU may consider banning the import of goods from Israel due to the Israeli settlements issue. He was sharing his legal view and told that the laws of World Trade Organization and European Union allow banning the import of goods from Israel.

TUC general secretary Mr. Brendan Barber has also given his expert opinion that the consumers are not buying the Israeli goods and thus the supermarkets have been forced to keep the Israeli goods away from the shelves. But he said that retail stores may be forced to keep the Israeli items of the shelf but it is impossible for the customers to force wholesalers to avoid he Israeli items and that is why the TUC has been demanding to completely ban the import from Israel.

He clarified that the TUC does not demand or favor a ban on Israel and said that they only favored the ban on the goods being imported from there and that too is to shun the Israeli illegal settlements in the Palestinian land which is blocking the peace negotiations to succeed between the two countries.

TUC also urged the United Kingdom to ban all sorts of financial transactions with Israel as it supports the Israeli settlements in Gaza. Professor Crawford’s opinion backs the TUC demand that EU as a whole or only the UK should impose ban on trade with the Israel in this regard.
